It’s been a busy few days.

We had a number of visitors over the weekend, down for the Vintage Ball in Temple House (more on that later). The house was heaving with laughter and the sound of the kettle boiling every few minutes (one guest is a tea addict, I lost count of the number of mugs he can put away in a day!). We had a BBQ before heading out to the Ball on Saturday night and then an al fresco Anniversary champagne brunch consisting of (what else?) a greasy fry-up on Sunday to set us on the road to ‘recovery’ or the cardiac ward.

After lounging around all day, the house grew quiet as everyone went home.

Except for this little feller.

The Flatpack began acting in a very odd manner soon after dinner. She’d rush out into the hall and then race back in again, staring out onto the tiled floor. After a few minutes of this carry-on, we investigated.

Kermit had wandered in while I was putting the clothes on the line.

He very kindly posed for a shot but being a global personality he grew impatient of the paparazzi after a time and refused to have his face photographed. In one leap he disappeared under the table in the hall, hotly pursued by the Flatpack who stuck her nose under the table and, thinking he was moving towards her, jumped out of her skin in fright. Repeat this comical moment several times and you have a sense of our evening’s entertainment.

Some time later The Brazilian found him in the spare bedroom and with that Kermie hopped off through the front door and out of our lives. Perhaps a certain Pig was calling him …
