… is for gosto, or taste. Practically every day I was in Brazil I would be entreated upon to taste some new food or drink and the whole family would sit and watch, asking himself, “*Ela gosto?”, waiting for my thumbs up or down (communication included a fair bit of gesticulation!). Pretty much everything tasted great though, my mother-in-law is a damn fine cook!

G also stands for gênio (genius). O gênio do mal translates as the prince of darkness! Could Ozzy Osborne please step forward!

Finally, (most importantly?)  it’s also for gim – gin. Need I say more. With a slice of lime, a splash of tonic and some ice. And whatever yer havin’ yerself  …

*Disclaimer, I’ve probably got the spelling wrong and the Hubby’s not here to correct me!

What's the craic?
